Biography

 

Donnis Collins is an actress currently residing in Atlanta. She’s originally from Long Island, New York and comes from a family full of talented musicians. She was accepted into a School of the Arts high school where she studied theatre, literature, dance and was a member of their award winning Women’s Choir. She earned a B.A. in Theatre Performance from the conservatory acting program at Shaw University, the first HBCU in the South, and was selected as a recipient for the John Lennon Endowed Scholarship by Yoko Ono.

 

She’s performed in award winning plays with professional theatre companies in Raleigh, Durham and Washington DC earning a Best Supporting Actress award for her role as "Anya" in Chekov's "The Cherry Orchard" along the way. She loves comedy and continued to study Improv at Washington Improv Theater.

 

She then added Film to her belt performing in web-series, tv, short, indie and feature films, also earning another Best Supporting Actress award from the LA WebFest for her role as "Libby" on the YouTube web-series "Orange Juice in Bishop's Garden."

She also has experience behind the scenes stage managing theatrical plays, being a photo double and stand-in on various films and television shows. Along with all of this, she is currently venturing into voiceovers, audiobook narration, creative writing and print modeling.
